Our Story
Every ethica product carries the name of the woman who made it and is part of her story. These artisans and their beautifully crafted products provide the meaning and purpose to our story.
For over a decade we have been working as a social enterprise in Peru that specializes in quality Fair Trade products. We were founded by the Sisters of Saint Joseph and we are Mary MacKillop Today’s Fair Trade social enterprise, with the aim to ensure that every product made would create meaningful change for the artisans, their families and communities.
And so when you buy an ethica product you become part of our story. Your simple, everyday act of purchasing, means more:
It builds relationships.
It unites women.
It changes communities.
It ensures the rights of children.
It respects cultural identity.
It supports safe and fair working conditions.
It creates opportunities.
When you buy an ethica product you join us and invest in a more just world.
Together we are investing in women.
We pay a fair price and create dignified work for our artisans. This provides them with the immediate opportunity to support themselves and their families.
Together we are investing in communities.
We reinvest all our proceeds into the villages where our artisans live and work to build sustainable businesses and strong communities.
